Do you hate PvP? Do you not care that Competitive is MUCH easier this season than ever and Fabled can be very easily achieved? Well, you’ve come to the right place. I have some weapon suggestions for you to use in place of Recluse. This list is made with the assumption that our Kinetic weapon will be Izanagi, so no special weapons. Keep in mind that these are not the only options available, just the ones that I would recommend. I will also try to avoid recommending raid weapons since they aren’t as farmable as other loot sources.

Submachine Guns (SMG)

Most SMGs are awful, but a couple shine through.

Subjunctive

How To Farm: This weapon was only obtainable through the Season of the Undying, so I apologize to those that don’t have it. If you do have one in your vault somewhere, don’t sleep on this thing.

Perks To Look For: It was able to roll with rampage, which is huge for ad slaying.

Bug-Out Bag

How To Farm: This can be obtained through Gambit Prime, or the Reckoning tier 2 or tier 3. It has to be the likeness of Oryx for it to be in the loot pool.

Perks To Look For: This weapon can roll with Multi-Kill Clip or Demolitionist for damage and nade charge. It can also roll with Threat Detector or Substinence for reload speed.

Calus Mini-Tool

How To Farm: This weapon can be obtained from the Menagerie located on the Leviathan. It requires purple runes, and the ability to use the first two slots at the top in the Chalice of Opulence.

Perks To Look For: This gun doesn’t roll with the greatest of perks. You should look for Threat Detector/Surrounded. These two perks synergize very well and the other perks on it are pretty awful. I only recommend this because it is easy to farm and works well enough.

Sidearms

Sidearms are pretty fun to use, if you enjoy SMGs you’ll enjoy Sidearms too.

Last Hope

How To Farm: This one is a little bit tricky to farm. It is a part of the random legendary loot pool. Meaning the only ways to obtain it are via random legendary engram, prime engram, or buying engrams from the Cryptarch at the tower for 25 legendary shards a pop. Keep in mind that the legendary engram loot pool contains 35+ items and gambling for the Last Hope can become VERY expensive

Perks To Look For: The Last Hope can roll with some awesome perks. Look for Feeding Frenzy/Rampage, Feeding Frenzy/Mutli-Kill Clip, or maybe even Feeding Frenzy/Dragonfly.

Traveler’s Judgment

How To Farm: This item can be farmed via bounty found at the Obelisk on Nessus.

Perks To Look For: Feeding Frenzy/Surrounded, or Feeding Frenzy/Dragonfly

Hand Cannons

I used to enjoy using Hand Cannons much more before I discovered the Recluse and realized I enjoy faster firing weapons.

Kindled Orchid

How To Farm: This weapon can be earned through the weapon frame bounties obtained from Ada-1 in the Annex at the tower.

Perks To Look For: Outlaw/Rampage, Rapid Hit/Kill Clip, or the Curated Roll. You’ll know if it is curated if it drops fully masterworked. The curated roll comes with Kill Clip/Rampage and Drop Mag.

Jack Queen King 3

How To Farm: Farmed via bounty from the Nessus Obelisk

Perks To Look For: This thing has a decent amount of good perks on it. Demolitionist/Rampage, Demolitionist/Swashbuckler, Demolitionist/Dragonfly, and Demolitionist/Surrounded.

Auto Rifles

Auto Rifles are pretty disappointing, essentially doing what SMGs do, but worse.

Arc Logic

How To Farm: Lectern of Enchantment on the Moon

Perks To Look For: Overflow/Demolitionist, Overflow/Rampage, Outlaw/Demolitionist, or Outlaw/Rampage

Gnawing Hunger:

How To Farm: Gambit Prime or the Reckoning.

Perks To Look For: Substinence/Demolitionist, or Substinence/Rampage

Scout Rifles

I’m not a huge fan of Scout Rifles, and the only energy Scout that I would recommend is the Oxygen SR3. It can be obtained from Zavala via Quest.

Pulse Rifles

I don’t really mess with Pulse Rifles all too much, and energy ones even less.

Bows

Bows are pretty meh, I can’t recommend any perks or bows to go for.

Conclusion

Recluse is an amazing weapon that I have over 90k kills on. But it is not the ONLY weapon that is good for ad clear in the energy slot. Hopefully, you enjoy some of these weapons. They aren’t as strong as the Recluse, but they are much easier to obtain.
